The four types
- Official warranty comes from the brand itself and is honoured at its authorised service centres in Pakistan. It is usually the simplest to use.
- Local warranty comes from the company that imported the laptop, under its own terms. Repairs go through the importer rather than the brand.
- International warranty is the brand's warranty from the country the laptop was first sold in. Whether a service centre in Pakistan will honour it depends on the brand, so ask us about a particular model before you order.
- Bytesline warranty comes from us: a 30-day local warranty, claimed with us in Pakistan. If something it covers goes wrong, you deal with us directly.
The length (for example 12 months) is shown next to the type on every product page and card.
What a warranty usually covers
A warranty covers faults in how the laptop was made: parts that fail in normal use. It does not usually cover physical or liquid damage, power surges, or software problems such as viruses and a reinstalled system. The exact terms belong to whoever gives the warranty, so check them for your model, and ask us if anything is unclear.
The Bytesline warranty
A 30-day local warranty from us, claimed with us in Pakistan. It covers faults that appear in normal use. It does not cover:
- A laptop that is dead or damaged, including physical and liquid damage.
- The screen.
- The keyboard.
- Returns: the warranty is for faults, not a way to send a laptop back. To return one, see below.
Returning a laptop
You can return a laptop you bought from us. Part of the price is deducted, and we refund the rest:
- Bought brand new: 30% of the price is deducted.
- Bought used: 20% of the price is deducted.
To start a return, message us with your order number. Send the laptop back with everything that came with it. Refunds are paid by bank transfer within 7 to 10 working days.
If it arrives damaged or wrong
- Record a video as you unbox. It is the proof any claim needs.
- Damaged in transit: no warranty covers physical damage. Send us your unboxing video and photos at once, and we help you claim from TCS.
- Wrong item: if we send the wrong one, we exchange it at our cost.
How to make a claim
- Official and local warranty: take the laptop to the brand's or importer's service centre with your order confirmation. If you are not sure where to go, message us with your order number and we will point you to the right place.
- Bytesline warranty: within 30 days, message us with your order number and a short description, with photos or a video if you can. We will tell you how to send it to us and what happens next.
- Back up your files before handing a laptop to anyone for repair.
What to keep
- Your order confirmation (the email, or the order in your account): it records the warranty and condition you bought.
- The box, with its serial number label.
- The serial number stickers on the laptop itself: a warranty can be refused if they are removed.
Not sure? Ask before you buy
If the warranty matters to you, and it should, ask us which one a model has and what it covers before you order. Message us and we will answer with the exact terms.
